For the many who venture down to FiDi, the neighborhood of Seaport is a go-to for the chicest restaurants, bars, views, and vibes. Located on the East River, Seaport bustles with new establishments and exciting events. There is something here for everyone, whether you’re looking for a boozy brunch, a pampering day, or a wandering walk exploring the history of Manhattan.

Seaport used to be a fishing port in the 1800s until it was recently converted into the home of some of the newest hotspots in the city. It adheres to its roots, sporting old boats, anchors and cobble-stone streets. The crown jewel is of course the boardwalk, a brand new walkway showing views of the river, Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo.

Here’s a crash course in all the best that Seaport has to offer the next time you’re making weekend plans:

Start by brunching at Bellini, a trendy spot that has all the poshness of Sarabeth’s without the crowds. After indulging in mimosas, you’re due for a little pampering at PrimpNYC, the upscale beauty bar that offers full hair treatments, blowouts and color. If you need a complete refresh, my personal recommendation is their Olaplex Treatment.

Don’t miss the charming shops tucked into historic tenements like McNally Jackson books, Mure and Grand boutique and Funny Face bakery. Finish the day strong with an iced coffee and maybe a crepe from the local Capo Capo and a stroll along the dock that boasts panoramic views of Brooklyn.

Seaport is perfect for sunny days when you want the vibe of the West Village without the foot traffic or noisy bustle of central Manhattan. It has all the components and old-world charm to keep you occupied, whether you’re in a group or rolling solo.
