Top 3 Street Taco Spots
Some of Brooklyn’s Best Food Trucks
New York is famous for its cuisine in its sit-down restaurants. As a native New Yorker, I can attest that some of the best food in the city can be found on side streets, in food trucks serving up piping hot, fresh pillowy tacos every day until late at night!
× WILLIAMSBURG
The first and most famous street tacos you have to try in Brooklyn are at Birria-Landia. Located right off the Metropolitan/Lorimer G and L stop, look for the long line of people crowded around the silver truck on the corner! This spot has a well-deserved reputation for the best Birria tacos in the city. Each taco shell is dipped into the hearty Consommé before being fried on the grill--it’s mouthwateringly, unbeatably delicious. The highlight for me is the contrast between the hearty pork and the tartness of the pickled onions they sprinkle on top.
× SUNSET PARK A beloved Sunset Park favorite, Tacos El Bronco on 45th Street and 5th avenue is worth every minute on the R train to get here. This is my favorite spot to get Lengua in the entire city! It is slow roasted and falling apart, similar in texture to pulled pork with a much deeper flavor. Their salsa verde is not to be missed, as it is the perfect refreshing companion to go with the hearty savory tacos.
× PARK SLOPE
Searching for a low-key gem that doesn’t always have a line down the block, and tastes straight out of Michoacán? Look for the truck parked outside of the Citi Bank on 11th Street and 5th Avenue in Park Slope to find the Tacos El Brother truck. I always go for the chorizo taco here; it's smoky, slightly burnt, and with just the right amount of spice.
